I like this umbrella. We have had very reasonable umbrellas that fell apart quickly and we have had very costly umbrellas that fell apart less quickly, but quickly sufficient to make looking a good umbrella seem out of reach. So far, this one is great. It's spicy and the fact that the pole isn't wood doesn't bother me because that's one of the weak links of the umbrellas we've had before. Also, I indubitably like the mechanism for opening and end it and we all get a huge kick out of the lights, which are amber and as someone else mentioned not strong sufficient to read by. Just strong sufficient to look kind of cool on a clear night, although we will never, ever have a need to use the disco blinking light option. someone with a very separate life, however, might indubitably find them perfect. I'm pretty sure it also has a temperature guage on the pole, but I'm not positive, because I haven't looked at it that closely. Still, that's an unlooked for bonus. (And if isn't a temperature guage, well, it might be something else that seems like a bonus. I'd best go look that up.) In any event, my husband put it together and didn't complain, so I think it's not that hard to assemble. Also, the navy blue is a nice color and is dark sufficient that it looks fine next to greenery and a wooden table, which is what it stands next to on our back porch. If I remember, I'll modernize this chronicle after we've had this umbrella for longer than a week!
